In honor of the 10th Anniversary of Mean Girls coming upon us next Wednesday, I felt inspired to do a pink makeup look today to share with you all that you can rock next week to celebrate this “historic time”. … Continue reading
So, it’s safe to say I freaked out a little when I got the email about the Annual Sephora 15% off sale. I immediately went to the website and started adding things to my cart and had a zillion tabs … Continue reading
Whenever fall finally comes around after the ridiculously hot summer, I constantly talk about how excited I am for sweaters and jackets and scarves and all that jazz. Don’t get me wrong, I am a cold weather kind of girl, but there is something so lovely about the coming of spring. There’s a feeling of renewal in the air, the colors get brighter, beaches get warmer, and everything is more vibrant. This year in particular I am feeling extra inspired for spring. I have spring break starting a week from today (it’s so early!!) and I am going to California. I was planning on doing some shopping before and while I am there so I’ve been doing some research on color trends, and seeing what my favorite stores are coming out with. Okay, enough of all this, let’s get into my beauty picks for the spring! (links to all products are below)
Recently, I’ve been crazy about blushes and I am in love with my Tarte Amazonian Clay blush. I want to get one or two more of them in the colors Tipsy and Achiote. BB Creams are an essential for the warmer months and I have heard great things about the Tarte BB Cream being good for oily skin and warm weather. Lip gloss is a fun way to make a look more flirty, whether it’s a light or dark-colored gloss. The Urban Decay Naked gloss will add a little bit of sass and flirtiness into any spring look. I have been obsessed with the Arty Blossom palette by MAKE UP FOR EVER. The colors are absolutely perfect for spring, and I also love the diversity in this palette. From pastels to neutrals, this palette has everything you need to create a vibrant and gorgeous look.
Moving onto fashion, I have really been wanting a pair of loose beach pants to wear over a swim-suit or even on their own with a plain top. These linen printed beach pants by Victoria’s Secret are stunning and would look good on anyone. Speaking of crazy pants, I have loved floral pants for so long but I have always been too scared to buy a pair. I saw these bright floral pants by anthropologie and knew I needed these or something similar in my wardrobe this spring.
I think having soft colored accessories for spring are nice to have for an everyday basis. This lacey-pink bag by Modcloth is simple, but the light pink and white give it that brightness that is perfect for springtime. A pair of big, old-Hollywood style sunglasses have been on my spring/summer wishlist for awhile now and these ones by Modcloth are perfect! They are affordable, classic, and will give any raiment a chic and effortless look.
That’s all I have for you beauties today! I hope you enjoyed and are liking my new blog! I am so excited to have my own domain! I can’t thank you enough for all the support. xoxo

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope you all had a day full of sweets, love, and fun. For all my fellow single-ladies out there, don’t be sad that you’re single! Spend the day with family or friends, pamper yourself, treat yourself to some sweets, and have a super awesome girl’s night out! Although I am staying in tonight, I had a wonderful day spent with my mom and tonight I’m going to relax, eat some yummy food, and watch Valentine’s Day. Today’s post is going to include my makeup, OOTD, nails, my Valentine’s playlist, and some baking. Enjoy!
Starting out with my makeup, today my goal was to create a soft, rosy pink look that was feminine and classy. I tried to make my eyes look as if they were blushing. I used a pale pink shadow all over my lids, then applied a slightly darker pink going up into my crease. I blended this all together with the color Limit from my Naked 3 palette that is a warm brown blending shade with a pink undertone to it. I added a bit of a darker purple and pink on the outer parts of my lid then brought the pink down to my lower lash-line to balance the look. Using my Meybelline Masterprecise liquid liner, I lined my upper lash-line with a thin line and flicked it out slightly at the end to create and illusion of wider eyes. Finally, I added several coats of mascara. Of course on Valentine’s Day a girly pink blush is a must. I used Adored by Tarte which is a soft pink blush with flakes of glitter in it. I wanted to go more natural for my lips so I decided on wearing Achiote, again by Tarte, that is a natural pinkish red.
My OOTD was a slightly dressed up, but still comfortable and could also been worn more casual for an every-day sort of thing. My dress is a floral printed dress that I got a few years ago from Charlotte Russe. Over it I wore a bit of an over sized navy blazer from Maurices. My shoes are nude flats that have a bow and flower shaped cut outs on the toes that I got from Khols.
For jewelry, I wore a bunch of different bracelets that I got from various random places that I cannot remember and a silver cross ring from JCPenny.
My mom and I decided to go get our nails done. Stupidly enough, I forgot to look at the exact name of the polish, but I do know it was by Essie. It is a beautiful navy blue color with subtle silver glitter in it. The finish is very shimmery and pearlescent. I also got this elegant flowery design on my ring fingers.
My top songs that I have been obsessively listening to for the past week to get me in the Valentine’s spirit are “Today Was a Fairytale” by Taylor Swift, “I’m in the Mood for Love” by Jamiroquai & Jools Holland, and “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra covered by Maroon 5.
One of my Valentine’s traditions is to bake something for all my friends and family. This year, I decided to take a leap of faith and make my favorite treat in the world: a macaron. They came out surprisingly well! The taste was fantastic. Though they came out a bit chewy, that is something I can easily fix the next time I make them. I wrapped them up in bags and ribbon and gave them out to friends and family. (a whole post on these will be coming soon)

That’s all for my Valentine’s post. I hope you enjoyed! I am still a bit camera shy so I’m sorry if I look mega awkward in all the pictures. It’s kinda weird showing your face for the first time…anyway…Happy Valentine’s day to all! See you in the next post! xoxo

Hello there, readers! I cannot believe it’s already the last day of January. Weren’t we just ringing in the New Year a few days ago?! Anyway, I am excited to bring you lovelies my first ever favorites post! This month I was able to try a bunch of new products and I’m excited to share the best of them with you all. So on that note, let’s get into my January favorites!
Let’s begin with skin care. Philosophy’s one-step cleanser Purity Made Simple is something that has been raved and talked about for so long. I finally purchased an 8 oz. bottle at Sephora at the beginning of the month and I am so glad that I did. I use it in the shower at night after I remove my eye makeup and I massage it gently into my skin for 15-20 seconds. My skin feels so clean and fresh after using this. Though I cannot say it has cleared up my skin, it has however made my skin appear brighter and my complexion s more even after using this for several weeks. I highly recommend this to anyone, with any skin type. Another bonus is that I’ve had it for almost a month and it’s not even 1/4 gone yet!
My second skin favorite is Benefit’s it’s potent! eye cream. Another product that I cannot say enough about. It’s hydrating, makes my eyes feel refreshed, I saw results in the brightness of my eyes within days, my veins on my lids show less, and when I wake up I seem much more awake. If you’re trying to decide on an eye cream or a product to splurge on, this is something I recommend trying out wholeheartedly. See my full review that I did on this eye cream for more details.
Moving on to a couple of lip products, I have two that I have been loving all month. One is a the Honey Trap lip balm by Lush, and the second is the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster in the color Achiote. The Honey Trap lip balm is something I use before I go to bed and when I wake up. When you first feel it, it has almost a grainy texture but as soon as you apply it, it becomes the most soft and moisturizing lip product I’ve ever used. It hydrates my lips and keeps them soft in this dry winter weather. Tarte’s LipSurgence in Achiote is my current favorite (as FrmHeadToToe would say..) MLBB (my-lips-but-better) lip color. It’s a very soft pink with subtle golden undertones. It looks very natural, but also adds life and color to your face and works with any outfit or make up look.
The Naked 3 Palette is an obvious favorite for me, and pretty much everyone else in the beauty community. For someone like me with very fair skin and a pink undertone, this palette is perfection. Whenever I go anywhere I can just take this palette and be ready for anything I’d need to do. I love the range of colors, though I usually stick to the left side of the palette for everyday, I enjoy using the darker shades for lining my eyes or adding extra depth or edge in a look. The lasting power is great and so is the color pay-off. I most indefinitely recommend this amazing addition to the Naked series!
My favorite nail product is this deep red color by OPI called Malaga Wine. The one pictured is so small because it came in a set with a bunch of other colors. Any who, I love love love dark reds in the fall and winter time and this one has to be my favorite. It’s long-lasting, and the color is very opaque. If you love dark reds like me, you definitely need to check this out!
I’ve recently been using a Hot Tools curling iron that I got for Christmas to curl my hair. My hair is extremely thick so I was trying to figure out how big it would need to be in order to make my curls look nice. I got this one from my sister and it works tremendously. Sadly, I cannot find it online to link, but if you wanted to look for it in stores I believe they got it from Sally’s Beauty Supply.
I am probably the most picky person with scents in the whole world. I had been looking for a new body mist or perfume from Victoria’s Secret for a while and finally found one I liked. The Pink Fresh & Clean Body Mist is my new scent obsession. I don’t know how else to describe it but fresh and clean…it’s feminine, but not overly so. I wear it and I feel like I smell refreshing and well…fresh and clean. Maybe describing scents isn’t my thing. I’m just going to stop now. Just know it smells amazing.
Speaking of scents, I have a small (okay, huge) obsession with candles. White Barn No. 2 Chestnut and Clove for some reason has become my favorite January candle for a couple of years now. It smells like winter, but not in a Christmas or Holiday sort of way, so it’s a nice transition candle. Just smelling it makes me feel like I’m cuddled up in a blanket next to a fire in a cabin in the woods. The blend of chestnuts and cloves makes this my number one winter candle every year. I could not find it on the Bath and Body Works website, but I’m sure you could find it elsewhere.
This concludes my January 2014 favorites. Look forward to more excited posts coming soon! I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend! TGIF!!
