May 2014 Beauty Favorites!

I’m back from my hiatus with a beauty favorites! I have had the craziest month and really needed to take some time off to focus on my dance recital and school finals and starting up summer school. So, if you guys are still with me, I am back. 😉 And what better way to come back then with a favorites post! I’ve got some great products to talk about this month, so let’s get into it, shall we!

First thing is a candle favorite, I don’t know if this necessarily counts as a beauty favorite, but I’m throwing in in here anyways! It is the Bath & Body Works Peach Bellini Candle. This is a candle I purchased last summer, but never loved it as much as I have been lately. Of coarse the primary scent is peach, but there are hints of orange and other citrus fruits that blend together and make this smell like a perfect summer day lounging by the pool. I don’t know if this is weird, but it smells like something you’d want to drink. Like an ice cold smoothie or something? I’m getting a little crazy now, this is always what happens when I try explaining candles.

I have two hair product favorites this month. First is the Herbal Essences Max Hold Hairspray. I really needed a new, and strong hairspray to have with my at my dance recital that I knew could keep my hair looking slick and have no random fly-aways while dancing. I sprayed a ton (probably too much) all over my hair before the show and only had to touch up during intermission. I also use this hairspray for day-to-day styling. From styling my bangs, braids, heat-styling, this hairspray works great without giving your hair that crossy crunchy feel and appearance. Plus it smells amazing!! Second is the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. I have been using this a lot more recently since I cut my hair (post on that to come this weekend or Monday…). I like using this after I shower, whether it is morning or night, along with my leave-in conditioner. Because the sea-salt can be drying on your hair, the leave-in conditioner, for me, makes my hair still feel soft and hydrated. I spray this all over my hair and then scrunch it and let it air dry. I have a natural wave, and this spray enhances it making my hair appear more curly and beachy! I highly recommend this!

My three makeup favorites are all very different: I have a primer, mascara, and a lip-stain. To start, I have the Meybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer (what a mouth full!). One of my major skin issues has always been my large pores and no matter what I do they always seem to be there. This primer is kind of amazing. It literally blurs all your pores! I have no clue how it does it, but it does! This product is also great at making makeup last throughout the whole day! I could go on and on about this, but I’m just going to stop rambling now. Next is the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Waterproof Mascara. It has been a long time since I’ve tried a new mascara. The Meybelline Great Lash has been my go-to for years. Recently when I was on a weekend trip, I stupidly forgot mascara and had to pick one up at a drugstore. I had heard great things about this one so I decided to get it! This mascara really lengthens your lashes and separates them so there are no weird clumps what-so-ever. The waterproof formula is also great. Let’s just say I had somewhat of an emotional breakdown, and this stuff totally had my back. This is a great mascara for summer because it makes your lashes look so gorgeous and you can sweat, get wet, and be crazy without it coming off! I definitely recommend this for anyone! Lastly is the Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Fuschia. First off, the color is the most magnificent hot pink you have ever seen. It is so bright and feminine, and looks especially amazing on fairer skin tones. The formula is also genius. It has the lasting power of a stain, but doesn’t dry out your lips at all like stains usually do. It’s the perfect combination of lipstick and stain, which makes it ideal for summer. Not only can you make a statement with your lip color, but you can do it with minimal touch-ups and it feels comfortable and creamy on the lips. Throw on mascara and your favorite Melted lip-shade, and you are good to go this summer!
